Fabrica de Calçado da Mata, Lda was founded in 1988, specializing in men’s medium/high quality footwear, producing around 700 pairs per day, with the help of 80 collaborators. The Enterprise produces 3 types of constructions: cemented, stitch down (flexible) and boat shoes. From the beginning , the “savoir faire” of the enterprise, was based on many years of experience and the concept of the product acquired by its entrepreneurs, making the main objective, to provide a global service of quality, which begins with the conception and development of the product, in a constant and systematic connection with clients and suppliers, with the goal to create a collection in agreement with the trends of each season, in conformity with the realistic commercial market of it’s clients, not forgetting the most important factor, in relation to quality/price. Special attention is also given to all the relevant information of clients, from the phase of the production of prototypes/samples, as well as accompanying the orders in the production phase until the final expedition. The strategy of the Enterprise passes through the exhibition of its very own collection, under the respective brands namely “Mata” and “Men’s Devotion”, to retail chain stores, which in fact is the biggest cliental of MATA, producing under a “Private label”, at the choice of the Client. When requested, Fábrica de Calçado da Mata, Lda, also provides all the required support in developing all the differentiators of the product, as well as the personalization of the shoe box, tissue paper, shoe horn, amongst others. At the moment MATA exports 95% of its production, to clients, in many cases leaders in their current segments, in the following markets: Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, United States of America and South Africa. Each collection presents and incorporates the latest commercial trends, along with the concept developed by the Enterprise, based on the continuous search of new raw materials, in partnership with it’s international suppliers, where the final expectations of the Clients are always taking into consideration, as the CLIENT is the motivating force and constant focus here at Fábrica de Calçado da Mata, Lda.
